About
Adventure time follows Finn, a normal human boy , and his best-friend / adopted brother Jake, who has magical powers to change size and shape at will. They live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo, which was hit by a cataclysmic event known as the Mushroom War. It was a nuclear war which destroyed civilization a thousand years before the story takes place. Throughout the series they have interactions with major characters. The ruler of the Candy Kingdom ,Princess Bubblegum , the ruler of the Ice Kingdom ,Ice King a.k.a Simon Petrikov , an a thousand year old vampire ,Marceline the Vampire Queen , their lovable game console ,BMO , the immature princess of Lumpy Space ,Lumpy Space Princess , and the princess of the Fire Kingdom ,Flame Princess.

There are many characters in Adventure Time, the ones I am going to talk about here are the ones listed above.
DISCLAIMER!! This is all my opinion and my thoughts from watching the show.
Finn the human, the main character in the show. While on the surface Finn is an ordinary teenage boy,
he is a known adventurer and is Princess Bubblegum's guard / hero. His most seen enemy Ice King (Simon Petrikov) whom which steals princesses and has evil plots,
however Ice King grows throughout the series to be more of a father figure and or friend to Finn. Throughout the show we can see how the activities of each episode
impact is mental and physical state. As he goes through the Land of Ooo he faces many challenges. He has not only found heartbreak amongst everything else,
he has lost his arm several times ,which gets replaced in several ways throughout the series , he has lost friends and foe many alike.
Jake, Finn's best-friend and adopted brother, throughout the show he can be percieved as naive or careless,
however in the times of need he is there for Finn and his friends. His parents are shown to be Joshua and Margaret of Joshua and Margaret's Investigations.
He is married to Lady Rainicorn and has five adorable pups who each have their own special
abilities and stories. I will not be describing them here however you can see them on the adventure time wiki, which can be accessed
here.
He accompanies Finn on his many adventures through Ooo.
BMO, Finn and Jake's video game console however he is much more than that. BMO is shown to be more like a son to them.
He was made by Moe the founder of MO Co. BMO was made to be able to feel feelings although being a robot. BMO has a dream to be a real
boy. He has a best friend / enemy Football which is his reflection in the mirror. He shows many signs of schizophrenia throughout the show,
however it is not confirmed if he does or does not have it. While BMO is just a robot he has many signs of real feelings, he has gone on many adventures on his own.
In Distant Lands (a mini-series that comes after the main series) he saves an entire colony of people. This happens before the main series takes place as at the end of the
episode he is shown to land in Ooo and run towards child versions of both Finn and Jake.
Princess Bubblegum, born from the mother gum
she is the ruler of the Candy Kingdom. She is a scientist and studies all things. She created all of her citizens from candy. At the start of the show she is a likeable character,
however as the story goes on she can be seen doing evil and unethical activities. Princess Bubblegum sends Finn and Jake on errands / adventures to
protect the Candy Kingdom and collect items for her research. Whether she is seen as evil or good she still helps out
both Finn and Jake with their problems. In season 5 episode 33 she goes to the rescue when Magic Man freezes himself in place with Jake's
ultimate sandwich. She however ends unsucessful but she is shown being willing to help.
Ice King, also known as Simon Petrikov is Finn and Jake's nemesis. He is shown to grow more and more through the series.
He gets his ice powers from the magic crown he wears shown to be made by Urgence Evergreen one of the elementals. However it was made well before
the main series takes place. Simon Petrikov (a human) studied the crown before the Mushroom War(MW), but when he wore it he would go crazy. Eventually after the MW
he is forced to put the crown on and lose who he was forever, turning himself into the Ice King. Simon was best friends and a father figure to Marceline, throughout the post-apocalyptic
wastes of the mushroom war he helps her to survive the ruins; when he puts on the crown for the last time he not only lost his mind, but lost Marceline as well.

Overall I give this show a solid 5 stars out of 5. It has some outstanding artworks as well as some of the greates story telling I have ever watched. Every character has their own personality and nobody is a dull character. There are many moments of growth with every character. As well as every episode can be seen to have a deeper meaning when looking into them. In all this is an outstanding show and a must watch if you haven't yet.
